¢Ã With respect to the recommendation for Supreme Court Justice who will succeed Justice KIM Jae-hyung retiring on September 5, 2022, the Supreme Court will receive recommendations for persons who are qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice candidate from within and outside the judiciary from May 20 to 30, 2022. This process is intended to select Supreme Court Justice candidates. 

¢Ã The Supreme Court will also receive recommendations for three qualified persons from outside who will be non ex officio members of the Committee of Recommendation of the Supreme Court Justice Candidates from May 20 to 26, 2022.

¢Ã After the recommendation period, the Supreme Court will disclose information about their educational background, major career experiences, property, and military service records with the list of candidates who agreed on the review process, and gather public opinions on the candidates.

¢Ã This recommendation process will be conducted transparently with opinions gathered from various spheres of the society. It is expected that a Supreme Court Justice candidate who will faithfully defend the Constitution, guarantee the fundamental rights of the citizens, and also play a role as last recourse for social justice and protection of human rights will be recommended.
