[Major Achievements]
Appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Republic of Korea, former Chief Justice KIM Byung-ro established the foundation of the Korean Judiciary and drafted basic laws including the Civil Code, the Criminal Code, and the Code of Criminal Procedure as a chairman of the Korean Code Compilation Committee. He is referred as ¡®a teacher of law professionals¡¯ and ¡®the foundation of the Judiciary.¡¯
