¡Û Commemorating the Korean Court’s Day (September 13, 2019), the Supreme Court of Korea will hold a celebration ceremony at the main hall of the Supreme Court on September 10, 2019.
¡Û Since September 13 was designated as the Korean Court’s Day in 2015, the members of the judiciary have ruminated the meaning of judicial independence, and reaffirmed the role of courts and the mission of judges, by participating the ceremony.
¡Û As the Korean Court’s Day falls on the Thanksgiving Holidays this year, the ceremony will be held on September 10, 2019 at 11:00 as an internal event at which judges and court officials will attend. The programs will include the screening of a video clip on the Court’s Day, a commendation ceremony by the Chief Justice, a celebration speech by the Chief Justice, and celebration performance of the court choir. ¡Û The Chief Justice will present commendations to the late Lee Seung-yoon, Seoul High Court judge, who contributed to the development of the judiciary and the improvement of legal culture; Sun Chang-min, a court official responsible for the statistics at the Sentencing Commission; Ko Yi-hwan, a security policeman of Seoul High Court; and Cho Yeon-soon, President of volunteer work service at Anyang branch. |
